Diploma Experience
(All the picture is taken by myself)

July 2014 was the first time for me to learn about fashion at Raffles in Surabaya. Honestly at first I was shocked. In my imagination, learning design especially Fashion design should be easy. After 2 weeks, I know that it wouldn't be easy, but I must continue my study and I shouldn't give up. The longer I strived throughout the terms, the more difficult it was.
What I have learned about fashion is that we need to be patient and to enjoy the process. It's very exhausting to learn and create a garment. To survive in this major, we need to enjoy the process, thinking about the idea, and searching about new innovation through creativity. For me, the greatest time in making a garment is after you finish it and you feel satisfied of your garment, because you can feel proud of yourself for making that beautiful garment using your own hand.
From all experiences I'd been through, the most stressing moment was the last term, which meant the time to make mini collection. In this term we were asked to make 5 outfits. We needed to think about how to make it, and tried to make them in muslin first (toile) before we could make them from the real fabric, and even paid more attention in detail to the outfits. When the day of the graduation came, I felt so happy, relieved and proud of myself because I could finish my Diploma. I will never forget how nervous and proud I was when I could stand on the stage and showed my works to everyone there, especially my parents and my relatives
