Zero Waste

Zero waste is a technique to create clothing pattern without lwaving a scrap of fabric. This technique appears because the consideration from fashion designer as one way tp eliminate millions of tons garbage a year. It can reduce 15- 20 percent of the fabric used to produce clothing. It;s a challenge for a fashion designer to think about the design and the pattern to create a cloth without waste any fabric.

To create it we should know your textile and design dimensions to be able to design your garment. We also need to plan it first. Another way we can also work out the pattern by draping. Some interesting technique such as TR Cutting by Shingo Sato and Subtraction Cutting by Julian Roberts also can use as a Zero Waste.

The first thing that I do to do this experiment is search about it and collectiong picture, and because I'm not really good at draping I decided to do a drafting.

For the first step, I decided to make box pleats because it consist of the rectangle.

Finally I complete my outfit as a bustier. To make the looks not too boring, I made backless outfit with straps.

The extra fabric that I have, I use it for weaving. It made my outfit look more interesting.
