Hongkong preperation

It’s the first time for me to travel alone without my family and I need to prepare everything, and make sure tat I don’t forget to bring any important thing. I also need to do some research about Hong Kong, to help me know a little bit about this country.

1. Weather

The first thing that I need to research is the weather during that time, with knowing the weather we can bring the right cloth. The weather on the March is 20oC – 25oC, it’s a nice and perfect weather to take a trip.

2. Internet

The second thing that I will research for the preparation is Internet. It become important things for me because I often to lost. If later I get separate with the group I can directly call my teacher. After do a little research about Internet in Hong Kong I can buy a sim-card for tourist in there. After done a little research about it, I decided to buy this sim-card for the trip, because of the benefit of this card and it can active for 8 days.

3. Transport

There’s so many option for the transportation in Hong Kong such as MTR (same with MRT in Singapore), with many guide and quite clear for tourist. Most trains run every 2-4 minutes from 6:00am till 1:00am. The other public transport is Bus, which very popular among residents. Bus routes cover almost all areas of Hong Kong, except outlying islands. To use the public transport we need to have an Octopus card. The Octopus card is a contactless smart card, and is mostly used to pay for rides on the MTR, buses, minibuses, ferries, trams and on a few taxis equipped with Octopus readers. Hong Kong also has a taxi, but I read some bad article about it. Many Hong Kong resident wrote that it’s better to use grab or uber rather than a taxi.

4. Exhibition

After my teacher explains that British had ever colonized Hong Kong, I know that there’s must be a mix culture and architecture that happen in that country. After I did a research about an exhibition on March, there some exhibit on that month. First is a Art exhibition but it will be held on 28 March, while I will go to Hong Kong on 4 March until 10 March.

5. Place to Buy Fabric

There 3 famous place to buy fabric in Hong Kong. First is a place called The Westerns Markets. This place is one of the most comfortable places to buy fabric because the whole top floor of the building is dedicated to fabric sellers with a huge range air conditioner on this place. That’s make the price of fabric in here is more expensive than other place

Second Place is called Yen Chow Hawkers Bazaar. The Yen Chow Street Hawker Market is located next to the Sham Shui Po Police Station, with lots of fabric decorations on its periphery. The place only consists of tent roof and it becomes a problem when the weather is hot.

[endif]--The Third place is the place that my school will go. This place called Sham Shui Po. Sham Shui Po has street after street of wholesalers selling fabrics in every color, pattern. We can also have swatches of fabrics, neatly presented on boards. The price of fabric and trimming in here is not as expensive as The Westerns Markets. ![endif]--
