Redress Competition
Redress appeared because of their concern about a waste of the fashion industry. This competition held as one of the way to made young fashion generation to take part of this. The competition creates a unique platform for passionate and talented fashion game-changers to transform the global fashion industry.
They work to educate designers about fashion’s negative environmental impacts, whilst inspiring them to use the core sustainable design techniques of zero-waste, up-cycling and reconstruction to cut waste out of fashion. The contestant can choose one or two from recycling technique for this competition.
At the first the contestant need to look for the material that available and what technique that they choose. After that they can start to design and do a fabric manipulation to make the material more interesting.
Here the photo of my work for the redress.

This is my moodboard. As we can see I use a safety net for my main material.
Safety Net is not a material that usually use in the fashion industry, but for me this is a challenge for me. It very interesting because I want to prove that I also can use a construction material for fashion and make it interesting, and make people doesn't know that it from construction material.

This is the fabric manipulation that made. I did a cross stitch for the safety net to make it more interesting. I can make many pattern with this cross stitch.
Here the three llustration that I made for the competition. I design more casual daily wear with loose sillhoutte, because safety net has a quite stiff material. The other material that I use for this design is curtain. I hope by joining this competition I can get more experience in suistainable fashion.
