Final Collection- LOOK 2

This is the first photo of my toile look 2. I need to do some revision for the bodice sagging and bulky and it will make the person who wear it lok so fat. Actually at the design sketch I make it as a gathered chiffon or sateen but it didn't work so I need to think a new idea for it.

Toile Revision :

1. Think another idea for the center front.

2. Make the center back as a straight line and give a placket.

3. Make the collar bigger.

This the picture of the new toile that I made for the bodice. I change the center front design into using 2 layer of lace fabric. I also change the width of the collar more bigger. I give a placket in the center back but later I will only button it into the bust line so it can shown the back a little bit.

After choosing the fabric that I will gonna use for this look I start made this look. An organza pattern and 2 layer lace with different color for the blouse and I use a black silk wool fabric for the pants.

This look is consist of 2 piece, a blouse and pleats pants. After make this look I take a minute to look at my design and realize that this design is quiet simple, so I decided to add something to make this look more stand-out. I decided to add some beading in the center front of the blouse.

Even though this garment look quiet simple, but I still make some mistake when I making this garment.

There's 2 choice to finish the hem of the sleeve. Should I do a roll hem or double layer the sleeve. The shape of the second look is quiet similar with the first look and I do a double layer for the finishing. I decieded to roll hem the second sleeve to see how it look. I quiet like how it's like so I decided to continue it.

The other problem is from the collar. At the first I not using a net, I just make the collar triple layer with the same fabric. It didn't work because the collar collapase. The next thing I try is put a hard net between the collar.

I like how it's look, because it can stand nicely.

I learn a new thing in here. As we know that I make a stand collar and it really have a nice shape and my teacher teach me. I need to slash right on the center front, but I need to hand stitch the edges because it very easy to tear.

The next mistake that I made is for the finishing for the hem of the bodice. I use a double layer lace and sew it together, and I suppose to roll hem the organza but I forget it. I need to think about th resolution.

I decided to trim the hem by 0.5 all the around and do a full hem. I can do itt because I make the long of the blouse a little bit longer.
